The Center has updated their Web site so it is easier to navigate. The RTC continues to be a premiere resource on information about children’s behavioral health. This month's report, "Severe Mood Dysregulation vs. Bipolar Disorder in Children," includes new research on bipolar disorder in children.
"Children who experience severe irritability may have severe mood dysregulation syndrome (SMD). Children with SMD and children with bipolar disorder often exhibit similar outward symptoms and tend to receive the same medical treatments, even though brain patterns are notably different for the two illnesses."
