State Department of Ed Forums - Specific Learning Disability Guidelines (Harrisburg)

The use of Response to Intervention instruction as part of the Specific Learning Disability (SLD) identification process is a new and challenging aspect of the IDEA and Pennsylvania regulations. The Bureau of Special Education and the Bureau of Teaching and Learning, in conjunction with the Response to Intervention-SLD subgroup of the Statewide Response to Intervention Workgroup, has developed guidelines to determine eligibility for SLD. The forum provides the opportunity for public input and response to the draft guidelines.
